Middletown

Middletown - 8 pm
Upon first listen, Welcome to the Family, the Flat Earth Records debut from this Indianapolis-based alt-folk/y’allternative quartet, seems like a sunny afternoon on the porch. It doesn’t take long, however to realize greater depths as one discovers the rich melodies, lush harmonies, and creative arrangements that appeal to a wide range of emotion. Middletown is a band that enjoys vocal harmonies, trading instruments, and long walks down rural Indiana roads, and combines it all into a unique songwriting sense. From raucous barn-burners of traditional-style gospel, to full-on alternative country rock, Middletown delivers good music with sentiment, sincerity, and an awareness of the human condition.

Penny Jo Pullus
Penny Jo Pullus - 8:30 pm
Penny Jo Pullus has been kickin' up her boot heels coast to coast. She has the "GIFT" that is doled out only to a chosen few by some higher power. Her sultry voice can caress you with a feather or slap you with a bullwhip. Her latest release "My Turn to Howl" is showing a new and different side of Penny Jo Pullus. She has combined a roots sound with pop influences to develop a unique style that has her singing at her best. Producer Ron Flynt of power pop band 20/20, brings a new edge to Pullus' style. "My Turn to Howl" features such Austin pop country veterans as Monte Warden, Earl Poole Ball, and a duet with rising honkey-tonker Kevin Fowler as well as Libbi Bosworth, Karen Poston, and Susanna Van Tassel.

Christy McDonald

Christy McDonald - 9:00 pm
Christy McDonald moved from Tabor City, NC to bring her brand of country soul singing to Nashville. Her big, soulful country voice and naturally curly hair demand immediate attention, but Christy is in no hurry to seek stardom. She is methodically working her plan to sing on your radio by finding songs, a band, and a record deal. Until then, Christy McDonald can be seen appearing daily as the receptionist at the front desk of Warner Bros. Records.

Kevin Montgomery

Kevin Montgomery - 9:30 pm
Kevin Montgomery's debut record, 'Fear Nothing', was released on A&M Records to rave reviews and critical acclaim. Montgomery promptly hit the road touring the US with artists such as Sheryl Crow and David Crosby. Coming off the heels of his debut release, Montgomery performed a duet with Mary-Chapin Carpenter on the Buddy Holly song 'Wishing' for the 'Not Fade Away - Remembering Buddy Holly' record. In 1997, Martina McBride tapped 'Fear Nothing' for her double platinum album 'Evolution', cutting 'I Won't Close My Eyes. Kevin also contributed to Asylum artist Jon Randall's most recent release, co-writing " I Can't Drive You From My Mind" with Randall and Rodney Crowell. Kevin has recently recorded 10 new songs with producers Frank Liddell and Dusty Wakeman.

Jason Salzer
Jason Salzer - 10:00 pm
Armed with his guitar and a sack full of infectious songs, Jason Salzer is poised to inject a little Nashville rock n' roll into the Los Angeles music scene. Salzer is fresh from frontman duty in Trucker, the hot regional band he put together with friends he met while in school at Western Kentucky University, and has been testing the solo waters as of late through raw stripped down acoustic appearances that give proper attention to his prowess as a lyricist. The Greenbrier, Tennessee native is spending his time offstage building on his extensive catalog and working with Los Angeles producer Jamie Houston, who has written and produced for Macy Gray, Michael Bolton and Jessica Simpson.
