Charlie White |
Charlie
White -
8 pm A native New Yorker, Charlie White began playing guitar somewhere around 1974 which soon progressed into high school nights spent playing bars and clubs. White moved to Nashville in 1991 and spent the next decade working and touring with some of the citys finest talent, including Mike Henderson, Marcus Hummon, and Kevin Welch. He enjoyed a five-year tenure as a member of Highway 101, and in 1998 signed deals with both Windswept Pacific publishing and Asylum Records. Hes managed to find time to produce critically acclaimed records for both Welch (Beneath My Wheels) and Highway 101. White is currently living between New York and Nashville and is working on a new record of mostly new songs that is expected to be released early in the new year. |

Hayes Carll |
Hayes
Carll-
8:30 pm Born and raised in the Woodlands, a suburb north of Houston, Hayes Carll is poised to become the next in a line of great Houston-bred singer-songwriters. As a child, Hayes was inspired to become a performer by a folk trio that came through town performing Dylan songs. "They were singing Dylan songs, I thought it was the coolest thing," says Carll. His own career as a performer got off to a slow start, playing a 12-string guitar that had only 6 strings, but things progressed and led Carll down a path of musical exploration. "I liked country music a whole lot, but when I heard Dylan then I got into Woody Guthrie and things like that. I figured the farther back I could go, the cooler it would be. So Dylan started the whole folk thing for me, and Ive gotten progressively more narrow-minded ever since," he says with a laugh. Both influence and talent shine on his latest release, Flowers and Liquor, available on Compadre Records |

Clare Burson |
Clare
Burson - 9:30 pm Twenty-seven year old singer-songwriter Clare Burson has created a musical space for herself that is at once sensual, wistful, lonesome and playful. Influenced by singer-songwriters like Lucinda Williams and Patty Griffin, Clares songs are stylistically nestled between her own pop and Americana sensibilities. Beginning her musical career as a classical violinist and a bluegrass and Irish fiddler, Clares innocent charm and unique sense of humor create an intimate and relaxed relationship between herself and her audiences. In August 2001, Clare released her five-song debut EP, "Undone". A collaboration with famed producer, T-Bone Burnett, and Nashville singer-songwriter, Mark Collie, the project showcases Clares development as an artist, her musicianship and knack for writing. On the heels of her CD release, Clare moved back to her hometown of Nashville to explore the rich community of writers and musicians. She won the 2003 Starvy Award for outstanding female musician and continues to win over audiences everywhere she plays. She is currently in the studio recording her first full-length album. |
