Fortunate
Sons
|
Fortunate Sons
Fortunate Sons is a classic configuration of
Nashville's prime session musicians. As writers, players,
and/or producers they have worked in the studio and on the
road with artists that include Bonnie Raitt, Stevie Nicks,
BB King, Steve Winwood, Peter Frampton, and Stevie Ray Vaughan.
A multi-talented line-up, the band is Michael Rhodes, Gary
Nicholson, Reese Wynans, Chad Cromwell, and Kenny Greenberg,
all seasoned players who've made significant contributions
to 20th century musical culture. They are releasing a new
album that features stinging guitar work, catchy vocal hooks,
and an infectious number of rootsy-rock buzz cuts. Music City
insiders are already among the followers, as well as a mass
appeal audience that spans both generations and musical perspectives. |

R.B.
Morris
|
R.B. Morris
R.B. Morris began erasing boundaries at an
early age. As a teenager, he was turned on to an eclec-tic
mix of poetry, prose and music by his older brother. Morris
began synthesizing a world view which continues to sustain
him to this day that being the notion that Artistry is
infinitely more powerful as a bond that various media descriptors
are as dividers. With that in mind, the fact that Morris
has spent his life variously as a honky tonker, a bluegrass
musician, a poet, a playwright, a spoken-word/performance
artist, an editor, an actor, a singer/songwriter and a band
leader is not so much evidence of a man fumbling about trying
to find his niche as it is of a unique artist expanding
and exerting his Art.

Richard
Ferreira
|
Richard Ferreira
From New England to California and back to
Nashville, singer/songwriter Richard Ferreira has kept his
song bag full of inspired soulful tunes. His music is a mixture
of the music he was raised on, 50s & 60s rock and roll, and
folk music with a little Haggard and Hank thrown in. Recently
his song "Here in the City That You Live In" was recorded
by Rounder artist Dave Mallet on his 1999 album Ambition,
for which Richard also shared production credit with Rich
Adler. West Coast artist Paul Marshall's new CD also features
one of Richard's songs; a Marshall/Ferreira cowrite called
"Lucyanna". Richard has had numerous cuts with Nashville artists
and film and TV credits. A soulful singer and guitarist, Richard
always puts on a great show. His band is Paul Griffith, Dave
Jacques, and Jack Irwin. |

Jetton
& Wheeler
|
Jetton & Wheeler
Someone has to carry the torch for the politically
incorrect, and it might as well be Jetton & Wheeler. After
all, when was the last time you actually heard a country song
that reflected your real life? Sure, maybe a few guys stop
drinking and rais-ing hell for their women, but definitely
not Jetton & Wheeler. Though they never set out to break any
new musical ground, it turns out that paying homage to nearly
forgotten tradition is revolutionary. Case in point all
of their songs were written on (often beer soaked) bar napkins.
Just when you thought real country music was dead and buried,
here are Jetton & Wheeler with picks and axes. Jetton & Wheeler
are: Robert Jetton vocals & guitar, John Wheeler vocal
& guitar, Tom Comet bass, Willis Bailey drums. |

Bill
Maxwell
|
Bill Maxwell
Out of nowhere, a new country artist, Bill
Maxwell, appears on the scene bringing an unconventional offering
of original music. An eclectic mix of a variety of styles,
his album,The World Through My Window, is an experiment in
genre gene-splicing but has its roots primarily in country
music. From in your face rockin' country and hard-hitting
bal-lads, to tender folk songs, his songs tell stories which
fire the imagination and warm the soul. Now performing with
the group, Sovereign Union, Bill's songs have come to life
with strong harmonies and a southern-rock feel that lends
itself to toe-tappin, boot-scootin, and just plain fun-havin. |
